See You Again - Wiza Khalifa featuring Charlie Puth

Many of you may or may not have heard of the new single See You Again by Wiz Khalifa featuring Charlie Puth but I personally think this song is great. This hit single has been released on March 17, 2015 as a track for Fast and Furious 7 and on behalf of Paul Walkers death. I know Paul Walker is a beloved actor that has impacted many lives, which is what why it touches the hearts of many.  For a song that has currently came out it has been doing very well and I believe it will continue to gain more positive reviews.

When I first heard about this song I thought that it was some "weird" song so I never gave it a chance to listen to.  I had the impression of thinking it was "weird" because one of my friends had told me he would never sing this song. My friend would sing any song so I thought this song had something negative to it to make him refuse. Overtime I finally got the chance to listen to the song, it played on the radio and I was amazed!  It was not what I expected!  First let me tell you the melody was great!  I’m usually picky when it comes down to melodies of songs but right when I heard I felt as if I was being carried into a different peaceful mindset.  The beginning of the song started off with a sweet and calming melody played by the piano.  The song sounded “real” and “natural” due to the piano because instead of using computer programs to create the melody they used a live recording of a musical instrument.  If the whole song was carried out just by the piano I would have began to find it boring but right after the chorus the drums came in giving the song a catchy beat.

Besides the beautiful melody I noticed the emotional context in dedication to Paul Walker.  Although lyrics do not stand out to me that much I took the time to listen to this one because I heard that it was a tribute to Paul Walker.  After listening to the lyrics the song appealed to me because a touching story is told explaining the loss of a close friend, which I was able to relate to.

The only thing I disliked about the song is that the more you play it the more it gets repetitive.  Of course every song is like that but this one gets repetitive too quick.  I am very fond of this song but I hear it on the radio too much, it is being over played and I hate it!  Sometimes i need a break from listening to i but either way this song will still be one of my favourite. I am sure this song will attract those who enjoy the genre or alternative hip hop or pop, the fans of Paul Walker, enjoy piano instrumentals, rap, and I hope other people enjoy it as much as I did.

FourFiveSeconds - Rihanna, Kanye West, Paul McCartney

The hit single FourFiveSeconds by Rihanna, Kanye West and Paul McCartney also has to be one of my favourite songs that is trending for 2015.  This soul pop song was released on January 24, 2015 and once it was released I began to see tweets about it.  On my twitter timeline everyone had said that this song was perfection, and at first I thought it was sarcasm.  I thought it would be a mess of a song if three different artists of the different genres come together collaborating.  The only reason why I gave it a try is because these artists are very successful in the music industry.  I went on Youtube and the music video for FourFiveSeconds had appeared right away, I was thinking to myself that maybe this song could actually be good.  As I pressed play an upbeat live recording of the guitar began to play and I really liked it.  Songs that have live recordings of instruments are appealing to me because it makes the song sound natural. Rihanna then started to sing the first verse and chorus and of course I enjoyed it because I am already a big fan of Rihanna and I enjoy anything she sings.

FourFiveSeconds is about expressing their exhaustion from all the false accusations of them being negative when all they’re trying to do is be kind hearted.  This song also shows that we may lose our temper but we are able to come back to fix ouselves.  Every time I hear FouFiveSeconds it makes me feel happy, it puts me in a great mood, and makes me to smile.  This song allows me to feel better about myself and helps me pick myself back up at times where I have had enough.

The only thing about this song is that I do not like the fact that they are wasting a perfectly good artist in this song!  Paul McCartney features in this song but does not participate in any vocals and only plays the guitar. Paul McCartney is a legend!  How could you let one of the famous singers in history feature in a song but not sing!  I believe this song would have been better if he sang because Paul McCartney is iconic and has many fans of all ages which allows to reach out to those fans and have more people listening to this song.  No matter what this song has to appeal to anyone who gives it a try because everyone can relate, everyone has those moments where you just lose control.  This song is great because it allows you to be motivated with its strong lyrics and lovely melody which is why I am a big fan of this song.

Bad Blood - Taylor Swift

Bad blood by Taylor Swift featuring Kendrick Lamar was released on May 17, 2015 and is already reaching number one charts for 2015.  This song has accelerated to the top for a short period of time and this song deserves it!  Taylor Swift herself wrote this impressive pop song that I feel many can relate to.

I am not a big fan of Taylor Swift, I do enjoy her songs from time to time but when she released her new album 1989 in 2014 I began to take interest in her music.  Out of all of her soons in her album 1989 Bad Blood has to be one of my favourite for many reasons.  The beginning starts with just only Taylor Swift singing the chorus and right after a catchy beat begins to play and Kendrick Lamar starts rapping.  I like how there is a small intro to set the tone and right when Kendrick Lamar comes in the song becomes interesting wih the beat getting you into the mood and a story beginning to unfold.  To me this song does not get repetitive because the verses have a diverset beat from the chorus and each have unique moods allowing me to enjoy them differently.

There is not much that I dislike about this song but if I had to chose something I dislike the fact that it is played everywhere and eventually I may get bored of it.  I also ghave comments for Taylor Swift, it is the fact that she has gone from famous country singer to pop singer.  No doubt getting into the pop genre was a good idea for her career but I am just surprised how Taylor Swift has diversity when it comes to singing.

I feel like a lot of people can relate to this song because it is about being close to someone then suddenly growing distant and just feeling betrayed.  Then you ask yourself "What I have done wrong?", and now whenever you see that person it is just not the same. It is great for artists create songs for the audience to relate which is why this song will appeal to many people.

Shut Up and Dance - Walk the Moon

The song Shut Up and Dance is sung by Walk the Moon and was released in September 10, 2014.  It took a while for this song to gain its popularity but it eventually made it up there and it is playing everywhere.  The first time I heard Shut Up and Dance was a few weeks ago on the radio and once I heard it I could not stop bobbing my head up and down to its catchy beat. I worship the fact this song is upbeat and a fun song anyone can have fun and dance to.  This song puts me in an excited mood that brings positivity out of me so whenever I am stressed out with school this song tends to uplift my mood and shake off the stress.  The electric guitar in this song is unbelievable because of the amount of guitar solos allowing the song to feel like an old 80’s song.  Everything on the radio sounds the same but Shut Up and Dance’s genre adds diversity that is playing on the radio.  The melody of this song is just too good, so I am usually too concentrated jamming out to the melody than understanding the context of this song. The only problem about this song is that the ending seemed repetitive to me.  The song ended off with two choruses, I know a lot of songs are like that but the melody itself can be repetitive.  But either way I guarantee many audiences who listen to this song will enjoy it.  All in all I admire this song and hopefully I will not get boring to me overtime.
